About Me

I am proud to be in my 15th year teaching science in the school district I attended (Lincoln High School Class of '77). I teach 9th grade Integrated Life Science and 8th grade Science. I love working with this age group of students.

Before  entering the teaching profession, I worked in the field of microbiology, first in clinical and research labs, then coordinating a hospital infection control program and eventually managing a clinical lab. I have phlebotomized rabbits, sifted through some interesting bodily substances to identify parasites, mutated algae, and enjoyed it all!  I am grateful to have had these career experiences and, through them, have gained a perspective about science that is reflected in my daily teaching, occasionally making for a good story or two.

In my free time, I enjoy jewelry making and enameling, traveling and spending quiet time watching the eagles soar and listening to the loons in Wisconsin's beautiful northwoods.

I am committed to helping students succeed and to enjoy science! Please feel free to contact me if you have any concerns or questions about your child.
