Jody Ackley

My name is Jody Ackley and this is my 19th year as an educator in the MPSD.  I graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and broadfield science education.  I also hold a Professional Development Certificate from UW-Green Bay and am currently working on my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and a Principal License at UW Oshkosh.

My first position in the MPSD was as a 7th and 8th grade science teacher at Washington Junior High.  After a few years I began working with the EXCEL (gifted and talented) population and for twelve years served as EXCEL Program Support for the district.  I moved back into the classroom in 2016-17 to teach 7th and 8th grade science at Wilson Junior High.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, crafting, cooking, and gardening as well as spending time with my husband, two girls, and small dog.

I believe trust is the key to developing solid relationships with others.  In order to develop trust, I believe it is important to take the time needed to get to know students beyond who they are at school.  To me, this means making the effort to learn about a student’s family, dreams, and struggles.  I look forward to getting to know all the students at Wilson and helping to learn and grow.
