Courtney De Armond, Associate Principal

Welcome to Wilson Junior High!  DeArmond

I am proud to be a member of the Wilson learning community as the new associate principal.  Upon graduating from Concordia University-Chicago in 2006, I began my teaching career as a 5th grade teacher in the western suburbs of Chicago.  While there, I attended Northern Illinois University to earn a Master's degree as a reading specialist and literacy coach.  In 2011, my husband and I relocated to Manitowoc for his job as a pastor.  I spent three years teaching 7th grade Literacy in Chilton and the past three years teaching 5th grade at Jefferson Elementary in Manitowoc.  In April 2016, I was awarded the Herb Kohl Educational Fellowship.

I believe that all students can succeed, no exceptions!  Each child possesses their own unique set of gifts and talents.  Helping students find and showcase these gifts is an important part of what the caring, dedicated, and passionate staff at Wilson does each day to inspire the education of our students.  The Wilson community embraces the values of relationships, engagement, and growth, and works to instill these same values within our students to help them unleash their potential.

Outside of education, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our dog, Auggie, exploring other cultures through travel, curling up with a good book, challenging others to a game of mini golf, watching Cubs games, trying new ice cream flavors, and playing the piano.  I look forward to meeting you and your family.  I value open and honest communication and collaboration, so please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or ideas.

Together we are Warhawks!
